Skipjacks Fall in Four Sets to Beaver
In a thrilling four-set match, the Chesapeake College Skipjacks faced off against the Beaver Titans, showcasing intense volleyball action from start to finish. Despite a strong effort, the Skipjacks ultimately couldn't secure the win, falling in four sets with scores of 25-19, 21-25, 17-25, and 18-25.
Kaleigh Hammond led the team offensively with 5 kills and demonstrated her serving prowess by tallying an impressive 7 aces. She also contributed defensively with 14 digs and made a significant impact at the net with 7 blocks. Sacoya Williams added 5 kills and was solid on defense, recording 8 digs. Kendra Coffey, Marisa Lopez, and Gabrielle Kakabar each chipped in with 2 kills apiece, providing valuable support throughout the match.
Serving played a crucial role, with Hammond and Iyona Brown leading the way with 7 and 3 aces respectively, keeping the pressure on the Titans. Iyona Brown also contributed defensively, adding 10 crucial digs to the team's total.
Although the Skipjacks fought hard and displayed resilience, the Beaver Titans managed to edge out the victory, ultimately taking the match in four sets. Despite the loss, the team showed promising performances and will continue to work hard preparing for their next challenge.
